This year, thanks to the generosity of our community, PEF was able to raise approximately $400,000 more than anticipated from the Giving Campaign for the 2022-2023 school year. In initial meetings with school administrators, we identified a strong need in the following areas: funds allocated to professional development (of which there is little currently), maintaining increased counseling hours, and a health clerk/staff person presence continuing on through next year that has a flexible role to help as needed.

In our mission to honor donor intent, we worked with our school Parents’ Clubs, the PEF Grants Committee, and the District to survey school parents to ensure these additional funds go towards projects and plans that are meaningful and impactful to our children’s education.

Here are the results of that survey, broken out by school level. Thank you to the 481 parents and guardians that participated. We truly value your opinion and input.

Tri-School Elementary Survey Results

Question 1

PEF’s current approach is to allocate grant funds across a list of priority areas using a formula to ensure equitable funding across school sites and subject areas within school sites (see a spreadsheet of the allocations for the 2021-22 school year here). The list of priority areas are reviewed each year by the PEF Grants Committee (made up of representatives from all school parent clubs and school-supporting community organizations) in consultation with the district leadership, and adjusted as necessary.

Question 2

There are a number of areas that have been introduced during the COVID crisis (to ensure safety as well as address learning loss and the mental health impact) and for which state and federal funding has expired. Please rate the priority of continuing to fund each of the following areas next year. If you are unsure or do not have an opinion about an option, you can skip to the next one.

Question 3

Based on input from district leadership, there are some potential new areas in which funds will be needed next year. Please rate the priority of funding these new areas. If you are unsure or do not have an opinion about an option, you can skip to the next one.

Question 4

In addition to the areas listed above, there are some additional areas that would help improve the student experience.  Please rate the priority of each of these areas. If you are unsure or do not have an opinion, you can skip to the next one.
