What We Do
The Piedmont Education Foundation is a community-based, registered 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to provide sustained financial support to Piedmont schools through fundraising and community engagement. We offer a variety of programs and services to encourage community giving and to aid parent support organizations in their work. PEF contributes approximately 6% of the Piedmont Unified School District’s annual budget and is the steward for an Endowment valued at over $6 million.
How We Do It
Parent support is vital to keeping Piedmont schools vibrant and strong. A donation to The Giving Campaign, the PEF Endowment, Spring Fling, or the Senior Class Gift helps us not only sustain current programming, but continue to innovate and strengthen our programs. Purchasing Scrip, shopping at Dress Best for Less, and other fundraising programs also help in directly supporting teachers and staff at all six schools. PEF’s contribution has a direct impact in every classroom in our District.
Collaboration is Key
By working collaboratively with District administrators and staff, PEF is able to respond to the greatest needs and opportunities in the schools. This partnership enables the board to maintain a strategic, long-term view and to support innovative K-12 programs. From community members to parents, teachers, support staff, administrators, School Board and City Council members, every stakeholder in our school district is vested in the success of Piedmont’s schools. Our community’s commitment to these collaborative relationships delivers excellent schools for today and for the generations to come.
Great Education – Our Community’s Core Shared Value
It is our community’s commitment to public education and spirit of generosity that help to make Piedmont Unified School District so extraordinary. Our deeply held collective belief in public education as a core civic value unifies Piedmont, and helps to make our District successful. Piedmont rallies around the notion that a well-educated population will enable the greater good – that we have a civic duty to sustain and support our local schools. PEF works to engage with all members of our community – our supporters are both parents and non-parents alike. Together we make a difference!
