A great public education isn’t free.

The cost to educate a Piedmont student with our current curriculum:
$14,910 per student
Funds received by Piedmont from state and local funding:
$13,372 per student

The Gap = $1,538 per student

The math on public education simply doesn’t add up.  That is why we need parents and community members to help us bridge the gap so Piedmont schools can continue to provide a comprehensive, rigorous and dynamic experience from kindergarten through high school.

The Giving Campaign suggests a total donation of $1500 per child.

Every donation makes a difference. We absolutely welcome and encourage gifts of any and all levels. Families should give what is meaningful for them, and that differs from family to family. We have a vast range of gift sizes within our donor community – from $50 to $50,000 – and each one of these has an impact for students.

The Giving Campaign and The PEF Endowment

This year we ask that each family donate $1500 per student. Each year, PUSD counts on funding of approximately $1.8 million dollars from our community, approximately 8% of the annual budget. Since it is unlikely that state and local funding will reach the levels needed to support our programs, we will continue to need at least this amount to support our schools.

The PEF Endowment Fund is not only an investment in the future for our students, but it is also an investment in the ever-changing needs of our District.  Last year the Endowment supported professional development, the connected learning initiative and other endeavors that continue to keep our District one of the strongest in California.
