Spring Fling Celebrates 20 Years of Supporting Piedmont Schools

 In News

From the beginning, Piedmont parents have enjoyed a good party.  20 years ago, Spring Fling started as “Piedmont Entertains” – a silent auction of Parent Parties that included such offerings as “A Shakespeare Picnic” and “A Family Affair at Stinson Beach.” Over the years, the event has grown and, in the process, raised millions of dollars for our schools.  The tradition continued on Friday, March 31st as over 350 tri-school parents came together to celebrate and support Beach, Havens, and Wildwood.

Held at the Historic 16th Street Station, the event featured a robust Silent Auction, a plethora of Parent Parties and the signature Spring Fling Live Auction filled with one-of-kind experiences.  The Fund-a-Need program was a particular success this year, raising over $47,000 for STEAM education in our schools.

“With the passing of Measure H1 and our school curriculum focused on integration,  STEAM education is at the forefront of many parents minds,” says Havens Principal, Anne Dolid.  “It made for a natural fit with the Fund-a-Need program and we are so appreciative for the support and training it will provide.”

“Spring Fling is one of the events that parents look forward to all year long,” stated Spring Fling Co-Chair Michelle Heafey. “It’s a great way to bring parents together from all three schools to support our children’s education.”

The event might be over, but parents can still support the event.  Parent Parties and donations to both Fund-a-Need and the Spring Fling General Fund are available at piedmont.maestroweb.com.
