SUMMARY:Cultivating Healthy Relationships - A workshop with Natasha Singh M.Ed.
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a live workshop with Natasha Singh M.Ed. as part of our Tri-School Elementary Parent Education Program to talk about how to use a value-based approach to teaching our kids about empathy\, decision making\, consent and more to cultivate healthy relationships. \nThe presentation will offer a professional perspective and essential tools\, frameworks\, and strategies to enable parents to create and maintain open lines of communication with their kids about these foundational topics –  and keep them open.\n\nThe content will be geared to parents of kids grade K-5. Parents of Havens\, Beach and Wildwood families are welcome\, and can attend either workshop.\n\nJoin us at Havens on 10/25 at 8:30 AM or at Beach on 12/3 at 7:00 PM for a program that is sure to add value both to your own parenting toolbox\, but also to our community.  As Natasha shares\, “A more accountable and relational community can be co-created when members of that community have ongoing opportunities to learn the same tools\, listen to one another\, discern shared and competing values\, and partner across lines of power and difference.”\n\nRSVP is mandatory for attendance.  Parents are asked to make a suggested donation of $25 per attendee to offset the cost of the workshop.\n\n\nNatasha Singh’s Bio:\nNatasha Singh has worked in education for over 20 years. She holds an M.Ed. in Human Sexuality and speaks widely on sexual ethics\, ethical relating\, sexual literacy\, healthy relationships\, and critical consent literacy. Natasha serves on a number of Boards including the Board of Freedom Forward\, a San Francisco-based organization that works to prevent the exploitation of youth and ensure that they have agency over their bodies\, choices\, and lives. She co-chaired the Board of Center for Domestic Peace\, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and promoting healthy relationships. She also serves on the Board of the Gaines Jones Foundation\, which offers mentoring and scholarships to African American Youth. Natasha is the co-founder of Asha Rising\, a nonprofit that provides permanent housing for elderly survivors of sex trafficking in India. Her writing has appeared in various publications including The Atlantic and The New York Times\, and she is a recent recipient of the Humanitarian Award by ASSECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators\, Counselors\, and Therapists) for her work in the field of human sexuality.
