DESCRIPTION:PIE (Piedmonters for Inclusive Education) is kicking off its Neurodiversity Speaker Series with a virtual event on: Understanding Sensory Regulation in Neurodivergent Children. The session will be led by Lee-Anne Bloom\, Piedmont parent and OT specializing in ADHD\, Autism\, and sensory processing. RSVP HERE for the Zoom link. \nMore details: \n\nWhen children show big behaviors such as throwing things\, leaving the group\, or\nstruggling to sit at dinner\, it’s often a sign of overwhelm\, not defiance. In this talk\, we’ll\nreframe behavior as communication and explore how sensory differences can impact\nregulation at home and in school. Parents will learn how to become “sensory detectives\,”\nspotting cues of overwhelm\, building trust through connection\, and using practical tools\,\nfrom sensory breaks to emotional regulation strategies to support children to thrive. We will\ndiscuss ways to set loving limits\, foster resilience\, and create environments where kids can meet their full potential.\n\nAbout PIE\nFounded in 1999\, PIE is a volunteer-run community of parents committed to advancing equity and inclusion for children with disabilities and learning differences in Piedmont schools. DESCRIPTION:Piedmonters for Inclusive Education (PIE) is hosting a casual potluck brunch on Friday\, October 24th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. It’ll be an opportunity for families to meet other parents navigating IEPs\, 504s and learning differences. Please RSVP by emailing hello@piedmontie.org. The brunch will be held at a home in Piedmont\, and you will receive the address following your RSVP.  \nWhat is PIE?  \nPIE is a nonprofit led by dedicated Piedmont parents working to support students with disabilities and their families. We partner closely with the Piedmont Unified School District and other local organizations to foster a more inclusive and equitable community for all students—regardless of neurotype\, disability\, or access needs.
