SUMMARY:League of Women Voters Piedmont to Host Candidate Forums on October 1st – City Council and Board of Education
DESCRIPTION:Join the League of Women Voters of Piedmont (LWVP) on October 1\, 2024\, for two candidate forums. They will feature candidates who will be on the ballot for Piedmont residents in the November 5\, 2024\, General Election. The forum for City Council will be held on Zoom at 6:00 p.m.\, and the forum for the Board of Education\, at 7:30 p.m. Both forums will also be livestreamed on KCOM. \nAbout the forums:\nPiedmont voters can learn more about the City Council and Board of Education forums at lwvpiedmont.org. Registration is required to attend the live virtual forums. After each forum\, the recording will be available on our website and on our YouTube channel. \nEach forum will be moderated by a League representative and will include questions from the public. Prior to the forum\, you may submit a question by filling out the online form on the event description pages on LWVP’s website. Questions will be screened by a team of League members to ensure a range of topics and issues. \nElection Information:\nVisit our Election Resources page to learn about WHAT‘s on your ballot and HOW\, WHEN\, and WHERE to vote. A ballot will be mailed to every registered voter starting October 7\, 2024. Ballot drop-off locations will open October 8\, 2024. If you have moved or changed your party or your name\, you can update your registration online. The last day to register to vote is October 21\, 2024. \nIn Alameda County\, you have 3 ways to vote: 1) Mail your ballot\, 2) Drop off your ballot at a secure ballot Drop-box in the county\, or 3) Vote in person or drop off your ballot at any Vote Center in the county. The list of Vote Centers will be updated as the Registrar of Voters confirms the sites. There will likely be a Vote Center in Piedmont at the Veteran’s Memorial Building at 401 Highland Avenue. A limited number of additional early in-person Vote Centers in Alameda County will also be open 9am to 5pm starting October26th.
