DESCRIPTION:Join us for dinner along the waterfront\, enjoy performances by two of PEBCC’s youth choirs\, and participate in a live auction and paddle raise.  The Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir’s annual Benefit Concert and Auction ensures that children in the East Bay receive a welcoming\, affirming and rigorous music education. Our mission is to empower & develop youth through engagement in a vibrant\, nurturing and internationally recognized choral arts community. We do this through championing artistic excellence via music education\, innovative artistry\, community building and cultural exchange. Proceeds from the Benefit support our programs: creating new music\, empowering diverse young voices in our community\, building compassionate global citizens through song\, and supporting financial assistance for all youth singers to participate. SUMMARY:PIE Neurodiversity Speaker Series: More Than Worry: Understanding Anxiety
DESCRIPTION:Anxiety in kids and teens looks different than most people expect\, and for children with learning differences\, it can be especially easy to miss\, mislabel\, or misunderstand. In this webinar\, Jamie Roberts\, LMFT\, explores anxiety beyond the worry\, diving into the many ways it shows up at school\, at home\, and in the body. From the after-school crash to the overlap between anxiety and depression. Drawing on her signature developmental timeline and clinical frameworks\, Jamie will help parents make sense of what they are seeing at home\, understand when and how to consider additional support\, and walk away with a clearer picture of their child’s nervous system and what it actually needs. This is not a one-size-fits-all conversation\, because anxiety never is. \nJamie Roberts (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist\, Autistic\, ADHD\, Dyslexic\, and Neuroqueer. She is the author of the book Mindfulness for Teen Anxiety and Neurodiversity for Teen Girls. Jamie is the founder of Equilibrium Counseling Services\, a teen and young adult mental health center. She also founded NeuroPebble\, a neuroaffirming clinical training platform.
