Dedication of the Eileen Rohmer Memorial Garden

Event Information

You are invited to join us in the dedication of the PHS Eileen Rohmer Memorial Garden.

This evolving garden behind the PHS Science building was designed and installed by students and staff last May as a service-learning project. It will serve as an outdoor classroom and gathering space for students, staff and community.

PHS will use the garden for environmental science and biology projects, subjects near to the heart of former science teacher, Eileen Rohmer. Ms. Rohmer passed away in 2012 at the age of 40 from cancer. Her former students rallied to help pay for benches and additional landscaping in the newly revitalized garden.

PEF provides ongoing funding for the service learning program at PHS and the seed money for the garden came from a generous grant from the Piedmont Beautification Foundation.
