Stress Less about Food Workshop for Adolescent Girls

3-part workshop series Fridays, 3:30-4:30 PM – April 29, May 6 & 13 Cost: $145

These classes are welcome to all and are designed to help girls and those who identify as girls, ages 11-14, build a healthy relationship with food and their bodies based on the principles of intuitive eating: Learn to reject diet culture Reconnect with inner biological cues Appreciate bodies of all sizes Find foods that satisfy and nourish Practice self-compassion By learning these tools, your teenager is more likely to trust their body’s needs, versus the external rules from diet culture, and to have the mental freedom that comes from not obsessing over food and body issues.

My goal is to create a safe space for discussing relationships with food and our bodies and to introduce the 10 principles of intuitive eating to support mental, emotional, and physical health. Register online at CommunityPass For questions, contact Piedmont Recreation Department: (510) 420-3070

Virginia Watkins has spent nine years as a certified nutrition educator to moms and families during the perinatal period and led the nutrition workshops for Kaiser Permanente’s Employee Wellness Program. In 2021, Virginia completed her training in intuitive eating. Her non-diet approach is fueled by her own past experience with disordered eating and the evidence that intuitive eating contains the best tools to support her clients’ overall health. Virginia is also the mom of two boys, ages 15 and 12.
